Tuesday’s Boot Camp

We will be meeting at Le Guet for Tuesday’s at 6.30 pm for Tuesday’s boot camp.

Tips for improving your fitness

Without focus it is easy for training to get stale causing loss of motivation and a plateau or decline in performance.  Below are some tips to help keep exercise fresh and keep the focus:-

  • Use cross training.  Ideas for cross training include cycling, swimming, running, weights, boot camps.  Consider where your current focus is and what other training would complement what you are doing.
  • Test yourself.  To know if what you are doing is working set yourself a test.  For example, how fast can you run 5 km (use the same course for future tests), how quickly can you cycle up a hill or how many repetitions can you push with a certain weight on the bench press.
  • Change your training.  If you pump low weights, high reps, switch it around to medium weights and reps or add some intervals to your running or cycling.
  • Train with a partner.  Find a training partner that will push and encourage you.

Mini Health Checks

I spent the afternoon carrying out some mini health checks incorporating blood pressure tests and body composition analysis.  Some people were more pleased than others with their results but at least those that need work have a starting point and can focus on improving scores for areas such as body fat %, visceral fat and metabolic age.

Today’s Boot Camp

Well done to today’s boot camp participants.  It was a challenging one but everyone worked hard and you will reap the rewards with firmer butts and thighs.  I’d appreciate feedback from participants on the session.

Food Intolerance Update

It’s been a while since I have updated about my food intolerances.

I have been reintroducing foods.  Interestingly since I have not been cycle training I seem to have coped well with the reintroduction of most foods.  I only have a few more to try and then I will have another test.  I really will be hoping that I will be able to eat far more foods.

Overall most of my symptoms have gone.  I still have some digestive issues which I hope will improve with this break from cycling.

Saturday’s Boot Camp

We will be meeting at Pleinmont (Portlet) for Saturday’s boot camp starting at 9 am.

Tonight’s Boot Camp

Great to have Mel back on boot camp.  Interested to hear her say that she had gone up a dress size since not coming along.

Also Va proudly stated that she had dropped a dress size and two skirt sizes since coming to boot camp. Just shows that the hard work pays off.

Tuesday’s Boot Camp

We will be meeting in the rear car park at Saumarez Park at 6.30 pm for Tuesday’s boot camp.
