Speed up your metabolism without exercise (part II)

  • Little and often – get into the routine of consuming 5-6 meals spread throughout the day but make them much smaller than your usual meals.  Your body is less like to store fat if it knows that the next meal is not too far away. 
  • Leave out starchy carbohydrates – don’t eat starchy carbohydrates late in the evening unless you have just undergone an exercise session.  So leave out the potatoes, pasta, rice and bread after 7 pm. 
  • Biggest, smaller, smaller – eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Pauper.  Your body then has the opportunity to burn off the calories from the meals eaten earlier in the day and won’t have lots of excess calories ready to be stored as fat overnight when you are less active.
