Have your energy levels slumped?

If your energy levels have taken a slump, rather than reaching for stimulants such as coffee, chocolate and energy boosting drinks, consider whether your lifestyle could be improved.  Firstly, are you getting sufficient sleep?  General rule of thumb is that we should be getting 8 hrs sleep a night.  Your body likes routine, so it’s best to go to bed and get up at regular times.  Catching a power nap in the day will help restore energy levels and productivity. In addition you might want to consider taking a high-potency B vitamin supplement.  Vitamin B-12 helps the body convert carbohydrates into energy.  Folic Acid, Niacin and B-6 support the nervous system.

Goji and Acai berries are superfoods which help to improve energy levels. Cut back on caffeinated drinks and switch to green tea, which has many health benefits, including lowering cholesterol, contains antioxidants which fight damaging free radicals, boosts metabolism, helps prevent heart disease, calms digestion, improves complexion and helps with bowel movements.

Getting some exercise will help boost your energy levels as well as help you get a good night’s sleep.

Check with your GP before taking supplements.
