Saturday’s Boot Camp

Well done to my lovely boot camp participants tonight.  I heard a few grumbles that it was a tough session but I know they love it really.  Great to see a mix of newbies, participants from my Weds/Fri sessions and the regulars.

Need a Vitamin C boost?

We tend to reach for oranges when we have a cold but kiwi fruit contains more vitamin C than an equivalent amount of orange.  Consuming the recommended daily amount of Vitamin C of 1,000 mg can help to reduce the severity of a number of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). 

Consuming a couple of kiwi fruit each day can help to lower the risk of blood clots.  They can also help to protect against cardiovascular disease by reducing the amount of fats in the blood.  Kiwis are effective against respiratory problems including asthma.  Kiwis contain antioxidants which fight those nasty free radicals. Please ask your GP before making serious changes to your diet or taking supplements.
