Kick your smoking habit with exercise

University of Exeter has conducted a study of the affect of exercise on smoking.  The findings were that exercise can reduce the power of cigarettes and smoking-related images which usually tempt smokers. 

The study involved 20 moderately heavy smokers who had not smoked for 15 hrs before the trial.  It was found that, following exercise, they had less interest in looking at images of smoking than before.  There was 11% difference between the time they spent looking at the images after exercise compared to before the exercise.  It also took them longer to look at the images indicating less interest.

It has previously been proven that moderate exercise can reduce cravings and responses to smoking cues.
