Enthusiasm

This quotation was engraved on my London Marathan finishing medal back in 1996.  I was never much of a long distance road runner but, having watched the Marathon on television since I was a child, I had always wanted to run it.  I have to say that this was one of the most fantastic experiences of my life and I am so pleased that I put in the training and did the event as it was less than a year later that I turned my focus to cycling so might never have run London if I didn’t take the opportunity when I did.
