Getting your omega 3s from canned tuna

Canned tuna has plenty to offer in terms of nutritional benefits.  Select tuna packed in water, as opposed to oil, in order to get the most Omega-3 fats.  This is because the oil mixes with some of the natural fat from the tuna. Therefore when you drain oil-packed tuna, some of its Omega-3 fatty acids also go down the drain.  Because oil and water don’t mix, the tuna packed in water will retain its Omega-3 fats.  Interesting huh.
