Soya Nuts - a healthy option

Soya nuts provide a high protein snack which is also high in fibre.  These little gems help to maintain blood sugar balance.  They are also a great source of B-vitamins, iron and zinc and are high antioxidants.  Other benefits of soya nuts are:

  • They are a complete protein which is particularly good for vegetarians.

  • They are a good source of phytochemicals such as isoflavones.  More on these later in the week.

  • They help to lower “bad” cholesterol.

  • They have are low in bad (saturated) fat but provide a good level of the healthy fats, in particular polyunsaturated fats.
