Keep hydrated in the heat

We should be paying more attention to our hydration levels now it is warmer.  If you become dehydrated you could get headaches and feel tired and nauseous.  If you are exercising your performance will drop when you are dehydrated.

The best way to check your hydration levels is by the colour of your urine.  If it is straw coloured then you are properly hydrated.  However, if it is a dark yellow or orange then you need to drink some fluids.

When considering your fluid intake also bear in mind that you need to drink more, the more your sweat.  It is advisable to drink some fluids which contain electrolytes to replace those lost through sweating.
