Ensuring that vegetarians get the essential nutrients

Vegetarians need to pay special attention to their diet to ensure that they consume sufficient protein and other nutrients which the non-vegetarians obtain from meat and other animal products.

Some products which vegetarians should be looking to consume include:

  • Beans and lentils
  • Chickpeas
  • Tofu and other soya based foods
  • Quinoa
  • Dried fuits
  • Leafy green vegetables
