Saturday’s Boot Camp

We will be at Lihou Island headlands on Saturday at 10 am for boot camp.
The cost is £8 per single session or £48 for the block of 8 sessions.

Working towards your goal

Now you have your goal (see previous post), you need to plan how you are going to achieve it. It might help to break it down into smaller pieces (milestones). Also plan progress checks to ensure that you are on schedule to achieve your goal.
If you fall behind schedule perhaps through illness then it would be wise to readjust your goal to ensure that you stay motivated. Likewise, if you achieve your goal early, you can always set another one.

I wouldn’t describe goals as ‘dreams’ as dreams don’t always happen in real life. I would prefer to say that “goals are achievable targets with deadlines”. A goal should stretch your abilities to give you the motivation to improve.
Have a think about why you want to change your lifestyle through better nutrition and a fitness routine. Perhaps you want to run 3km or want to lose 2 stone in weight or have the energy to get up a flight of stairs without stopping half way up for breath. May be you want to bring your cholesterol level down or reduce your blood pressure.
Whatever your goal, write it down and give yourself a sensible deadline of when you are going to achieve it.
Next you need a plan of how you are going to achieve your goal.
Tuesday’s Boot Camp

We will be meeting at the Bathing Pools on Tuesday at 6.00 pm for boot camp. This will be the 2nd boot camp in the current series. If you are late, you will find us up the steps.
The cost for boot camp is either £8 per session or £48 for 8 sessions.
If you have already completed an informed consent form there is no need to complete another one unless there have been any changes to your health or contact details.

Beans are best

Why not have a meat free day and opt for some tasty beans which are packed with protein as well as vitamins and minerals?
Beans are rich in soluble fiber and low in fat and cholesterol. Add them to a salad, soup or have with some cous cous or pasta, which should leave you feeling satisfied for hours. Black beans are found to be the best, particularly as they are packed with antioxidants which fight the ageing process and that has to be a plus.

This Saturday we will be at Fort Richmond at 10 am. Remember to dress for the weather and bring some drink with you.
If it is sunny, don’t forget your factor 30.
Last night’s boot camp

Well done to last night boot camp participants who turned up despite blustery winds. We had a really good session. Some commented that it was the hardest workout they had done.
There might be some sore legs today (oops).
Tonight’s Boot Camp

Hey Folks, don’t forget boot camp tonight will be at Jerbourg Point at 6 pm. Make sure you dress for the weather and bring some drink with you. If you have a watch (pref. stop watch) that would be good too but don’t worry if not.
Might also be wise to bring gloves. Bring some spare dry clothes with you too.
